How To Use The Pilates Machine

Pilates is a type of work out that helps to increase your heart rate and work out every muscle in your body without any added strain. Though it is quite effective it is one of the most difficult things to do. Those who have a harder time with it will use the help of a Pilates machine. In order to get the most out of the machine you have to know what you are doing with it.

Pilates Reformer

  • This particular machine has a sliding platform that is connected at the bade to a number of springs. These springs are what give you the resistance that you are looking for and will help you to strengthen your abdominal muscles. Start off with a resistance of four or five.
  • While lying on your back allow you feet to rest on the foot bar. The knees should be bent at a 90 degree angle. Exhale and stretch your legs to move the platform from the foot bar.
  • Inhale while you are bending your knees slowly back to the starting position.

Pilates Cadillac

  • Sit down on the bench with your spine in a neutral position and your body facing the roll down bar. Both hands should be holding the roll down bar and your feet need to be around twelve to eighteen inches apart from each other.
  • Pull in your ab muscles tightly as you are rolling back toward the bench. Make sure to move slowly and one vertebrae at a time.
  • Inhale when your body is aligned with the bench and wait two seconds before inhaling and going back to the starting position. Roll up slowly and keep your ab muscle tight.

Pilates Wunda

  • Sit on the chair and do simple push ups. Try to do as many as you can during one sitting before you move to another exercise.
  • Stand up and place your right foot at the corner of the base of the chair. Bend your left knee and place your left foot on the wunda pedal and push down. Raise it up again using just your left leg.
